The Co-BETE podcast
The Co-BETE (Pronounced ”coh beat”) podcast focuses on three exciting career fields in the 21st century - education, technology, and entertainment. Co-BETE’s primary objective is to analyze and discuss how these three fields intertwine and interconnect. Co-BETE (Co-B.E.T.E.) is an acronym for ”Community Broadcasting Education, Technology, and Entertainment.” The idea is to broadcast to ”the community” wherever possible - engaging, relevant, and pertinent information on the above fields while closing the digital divide. Co-BETE is hosted by educator and entertainer Doug Bailey (D.Bail), who has over twenty years of field experience. D. Bail earned his bachelor’s in media arts (2005) and a master’s in educational technology (2023). In addition to obtaining his STEM certificate, Doug has begun his doctoral studies in educational technology leadership (Ed.D) at New Jersey City University. D. Bail’s additional entertainment experience includes television, radio, and record label positions in the number one market (New York City) at companies such as Electra Records, MTV Networks, Justo’s Mixtape Awards, Music Choice, 107.5 WBLS, and HOT 97. D.Bail Biography
Media Arts Specialist/Educational Technologist Doug Bailey has over twenty years of experience in the entertainment industry. He has worked as a television host for Comcast Cable, Time Warner, and the Billboard DEMMX award-winning show, Certified on Music Choice.
Professionally known as "D.Bail," Doug has conducted hundreds of celebrity interviews for various outlets, including Where Ya At? Video Show, Justo's Mixtape Awards, Mixshow 360, and his independent platform, Grustle TV/Grustle Media.
Doug also expanded his writing expertise, maintaining monthly mixtape recaps on the Mixtape Awards blog site, which will soon be transformed into audible clips.
His first media love was radio, and he spent fifteen years working for the #1 Urban Adult Contemporary station in New York City—107.5 WBLS FM. In addition, under the Emmis Communications and current MediaCo banner, Doug has serviced sales and community clients as a promotions coordinator for eight years, with the most acknowledged radio brand in hip-hop culture—HOT 97 FM. He was among the most experienced and recognizable brand ambassadors in their promotional and marketing department.
Doug later transcended his position in radio at Rutgers and New Jersey City University, teaching media classes to adolescent students.
Doug is the creative director for GrustleMedia.com, home of the Co-BETE Podcast and a soon-to-be-launched retrospective series of his career highlights in the number one media market. In the spirit of his love of vintage fashion and e-commerce, apparel is now available via SHOP96 on his website.
Doug continues to develop his expertise in education, technology, and entertainment, creating initiatives to service those in need.
As a full-time educator and academic advisor who has earned his master's in educational technology and a STEM certificate, Doug is looking to partner with progressive companies to expose his students to a concept he developed called ETE literacy (education, technology, and entertainment).
Doug is in his first year of earning his Ed.D. (Doctor of Education) in Educational Technology Leadership at NJCU (Cohort 12).
